Living Your Authentic Self
By: Cheryl Martinson

So many times you run into someone and you have hit it off right away.  You are extremely excited that you met someone that you have truly have connected with.  Wow....this person is so great.

They always say that the first impression is the most important.  This is not always the case.  The second interaction a lot of the time will reveal the persons true identity.  They start talking and the stories that are spoken ruin the first impression given. The person may still be a good person, but there are some people you may run into that do not feel comfortable in their own skin, in turn, they may say and do things to give you an impression of being what they wish they were.

When one is not living authentically, a serious condition may form.  The Phony.  One may act in ways that may not be true to their authentic self.  They may develop elaborate stories to tell in attempts to feel authentic and to develop a sense of worth.  They may be the person that is considered a 'bragger' and the one that always seems to have the most unbelievable story every week.

The reason for this behavior is mainly because this person is searching for an outside source to validate their worth, when really their worth is already in existence, they just do not understand that they are already what they desire to be, or possibly more.

If everyone were to be true to themselves and eliminate the untruths they tell themselves, imagine the incredible people we can become.  How much time does one spend creating untruths and imaginary existences.  The facts are astonishing and sad to say the least.

To eliminate the unnecessary fantasies one could create, it is beneficial to replace that time with discovering yourself.  What are your likes?  What are your dislikes?  Find out who you really are.  What is it that you have to offer the world?  Many times that is the problem in the first place.  They are searching for what the world can offer them, not what they can offer the world.  Often, finding your authentic self can be found by being authentic in the world and giving to others.  This will bring a sense of joy and joy will bring truth.

Be true to yourself, Be true to the world.
